In the fields of carpets, decorative fabrics and industrial textiles, the loftiness and wear resistance of the yarn directly affect the user experience of the finished products. Nantong Chuangjia New Materials Co., Ltd. has been engaged in the research and production of polypropylene BCF yarn for a long time, providing yarn materials for products such as home carpets, car floor mats, and outdoor mats.
Polypropylene BCF yarn (expanded filament) is a type of yarn formed by the expansion deformation process, where polypropylene filaments are transformed into a curled and fluffy structure. Compared with ordinary polypropylene yarn, BCF yarn has the characteristics of good coverage, high resilience, and soft feel, making it suitable as the base material for pile carpets. Nantong Chuangjia adopts a one-step spinning and expansion process, completing from the feeding of polypropylene chips to the rolled packaging of the finished yarn continuously, reducing the interference of intermediate processes on the quality of the yarn.
From a production perspective, the quality of polypropylene BCF yarn is influenced by factors such as spinning temperature, cooling conditions, stretching ratio, and expansion airflow pressure. Nantong Chuangjia has equipped its production line with an online tension monitoring device and an airflow adjustment system, ensuring that the crimp stability of the yarn remains within a reasonable range. For different applications of polypropylene BCF yarn, the company controls the yarn fineness by adjusting process parameters. The regular products cover a range from 900D to 3000D, meeting the different density requirements from thin flat loop carpets to thick cut pile carpets.
In terms of color configuration, the polypropylene BCF yarn can be produced as colored yarn through the direct dyeing method from the raw material solution, or it can be produced as white yarn for downstream customers for post-processing dyeing. Nantong Chuangjia is equipped with its own color masterbatch addition system, which can match the color according to the color chart provided by the customer to produce various colors of polypropylene BCF yarn. This reduces the subsequent printing and dyeing processes and wastewater discharge for carpet manufacturers. For outdoor carpets or foot mats, the polypropylene BCF yarn itself has the properties of water resistance, mold resistance, and resistance to acid and alkali. When combined with anti-aging additives, its service life is further extended.
In terms of application scenarios, polypropylene BCF yarn is mainly used in products such as home block carpets, full-ply carpets, car luggage compartment padding, door mats, and poolside floor mats. Compared with nylon BCF yarn, polypropylene BCF yarn has a lower density and a lighter unit area weight, which is conducive to reducing transportation costs and labor intensity during installation. At the same time, polypropylene materials have a low moisture absorption rate, and after being laid in humid areas, they dry faster and are less likely to breed bacteria.
